The Finance and Business Services Division is seeking a motivated Financial Advisor to join the Science Faculty, providing high-quality financial advice and project accounting services. Working in a collaborative and client-focused team, the role partners with senior project leaders and researchers to ensure effective financial planning, budgeting, and compliance, supporting the faculty's operational and research activities through sound analysis, insights, and professional guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering financial advice and analysis to project leaders to support decision-making, grant utilisation, and compliant cost management.
* Contributing to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and the development of business strategies for client business units.
* Managing the application of financial governance, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes across projects.
* Supporting the preparation of business cases and providing operational leadership to enhance financial capability and performance within the team.
About You
You will be a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional with the ability to provide high-quality financial analysis and project accounting services in a complex environment. With strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach, you will build trusted relationships with stakeholders and deliver strategically aligned financial advice and solutions.
* Degree qualifications in accounting, business, commerce, or a related field (or equivalent relevant training and professional experience).
* Progress towards, or current membership of, a professional accounting body (CPA/CA or equivalent).
* Strong financial accounting, analysis, and reporting skills with demonstrated experience in project-based accounting.
* Proven ability to deliver financial advisory services within complex stakeholder and policy environments.
* Experience providing strategically aligned operational financial advice and solutions to support business objectives.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with senior leaders and diverse teams.
