**The Opportunity**:
Newcastle Anglican has a rare opportunity for an Investigator to join the wider Quality, Risk & Safety team. You will be responsible for reviewing and investigating incidents within aged care, disability, child and school services and ensure and assist with compliance requirements for all Newcastle Anglican agencies/directorates.
You will ensure active management of up to tier 4 investigations to deliver clearly defined timelines and outputs in accordance with relevant laws and Newcastle Anglican ordinances, and procedures.

**Role & Responsibilities**:
- Conduct objective and timely investigations into allegations of misconduct, neglect, abuse and/or criminal activity by employees and volunteers, including: research and reviewing evidence from internal and external sources; organising and conducting interviews witnesses and alleged persons; and documenting investigation process, evidence, actions and outcomes.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and procedural fairness in all investigations
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify risks and recommend improvements
- Manage internal and external reporting obligations including reporting to senior leaders, NSW police; and regulators, as required.
- Liaise with other oversight and/or investigative bodies, particularly in concurrent investigations including but not limited to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) and Department of Education and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Provide updates to senior leaders regarding the status of investigations as required and relevant.
- Undertake risk assessments
- Undertake legislative compliance audits as required
- Report on audit outcomes and other key parts of the investigations policy and procedure as necessary.
**About you?**
- Current NSW drivers licence.
- A current NSW Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children).
- A current NDIS worker check.
- National Police Check (the Diocese will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
- Cert IV in Government Investigations or equivalent work experience of 3 years in investigations.
- Formal training and experience in investigative interviewing.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations in line with legislative and mandatory reporting timeframes, in child protection, disability, aged care and/or industrial relations sector.
- Expertise in conducting workplace investigations and associated evidence collection and presentation.
- Experience in contemporary interviewing techniques.
- Experience writing defensible investigation reports.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to all legislative requirements affecting service delivery (e.g. Disability Standards, Disability Discrimination, Aged Care, EEO, NSW Child Protection, Office of the Children's Guardian, WHS Legislation), with an ability and commitment to learn those areas not previously covered.
- Proven experience supporting compliance.
- Ability to present to and address issues with senior stakeholders.
