The HammondCare Volunteer program is a excellent way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Hunter.
From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords… whateveryou love, you can share it with someone who loves it too.
As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in a residential care home. Spend time engaging with residents one-on-one or in small groups.
Asa HammondCare Golden Cup Café Club Volunteer, you'll be helping residents enjoy meeting others and socialising at our onsite engagement space 'The Hub'. Fortnightly visits will see you inviting residents to the café club, starting conversations, taking drink requests, serving some treats for afternoon tea, maybe even start a sing‑along, to name a few. Come along and prepare for a variety of engagement as you volunteer your time at HammondCare Cardiff.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements
- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening Check
The Golden Cup Café Club runs fortnightly on Mondays from 1:30pm to 3pm. Volunteers will ideally be available from 12:45pm to 3:15pm.
