As a Power Systems Consultant, you play a critical role in driving the energy transition and creating a more sustainable future. You coordinate technical studies related to power transmission and work closely with clients to develop customized solutions that improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
You will guide them in selecting optimal solutions that meet their specific needs and be an integral part of projects with real impact on the world.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead consulting engagements through completion, aligning team members from different technical backgrounds within a multicultural environment.
* Oversee the execution of analyses of power systems, engagements for transmission and industrial network planning, and grid interconnection studies of large generation, storage, and load resources.
* Engage with clients to work towards successful grid connection requests, highlighting potential risks and commercial implications.
* Support the integration of power electronic devices, renewable generation, storage devices, HVDCs, etc. into AC grids (from conceptual studies to project execution).
* Support the analysis of high-frequency phenomena like harmonic distortion, transient overvoltage, TRV, missing zero-crossings, or inrush currents.
* Presentation to new clients, showcasing our portfolio of offerings.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred).
* 5-8 years of experience in conducting power system analysis in steady and transient states.
* Expert knowledge in transmission planning and operating studies (100 kV ~ 765 kV), power system performance analyses including load flow, dynamic stability, voltage stability, protection coordination, short-circuit, and transfer limits.
* Deep understanding of grid connection procedures and grid codes, and particularly the modeling and study work involved.
* Relevant experience working and communicating with independent/transmission system operators (ISO/TSO), utilities, and developers.
* Experience in power system simulation programs (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB/Simulink).
* Hands-on expertise in programming tools such as Python, FORTRAN, MATLAB, etc.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 40%.
