Destination Gold Coast Consortium is currently developing the next stage of the largest integrated resort development on the Gold Coast, the $2 billion Masterplan at The Star Gold Coast.
With towers already under construction and the planning for the next stages of the master plan well under way they are looking for the next key member of the team, a Contracts Manager.
They currently have over $300m worth of projects under construction and there is a lot more to come. The current tower, Tower 2, dubbed the 'Tower for Tourism', is a 63 storey mixed use tower and will host an internationally recognised, five-star hotel brand featuring 210 world-class hotel rooms, luxurious amenities and 457 contemporary apartments that will form part of The Star Residences.
Future towers will also be a mix of hotel and resort rooms along with high rise residential apartments which all integrate through to the Star Casino and it's resort facilities.
- Experience managing the head contract on major projects $100m+
- Experience working with or directly for Tier 1 contractors
- Tertiary Qualifications in Construction Management or QS background/ skillset
- Extensive procurement experience
- Additional course work, continuing education, or other training in legal, contract law, arbitration, or similar is advantageous
- Experience working with auditors would be beneficial
- Experience in working within a Joint Venture structure and demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the management and administration of the Head Contract
- Work alongside the Senior Project Manager to prepare and manage the Tower 2 procurement plan
- End-to-end contract management for all works packages from RFP to completion of Defects Liability, including letting of new contracts for external civil, hotel FF&E and dining packages
- Set up and review of all contracts to ensure potential risks to the company are adequately identified, assessed and mitigated
- In the event of a contractual claim, collaborate with legal counsel and 3rd party experts to develop strategies and responses to claims.
- Manage and administer reports to track claims and risk profile
- Manage and administer variation assessments and approvals
- Where applicable manage the appointed QS consultant
- Provide quantity surveying assistance to the company including pre and post contract stage
- Assist the Project Management team with the review and assessment of variations
- Joint Venture stakeholder management to accurately present current contract positions and recommended actions, and obtain budget/ variation approvals
