Senior Consultant – Tax Controversy and Governance – Financial Services

As a Tax Controversy and Governance Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in assisting clients in Australia in navigating tax risk management and tax controversies. You'll have the chance to manage client relationships and collaborate with the talented members of our broader Financial Services team.
This is a hybrid position based in Narrm – Melbourne or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
Assist with providing advice to a range of clients, from large corporates to Industry Superannuation Funds, helping them to develop and document their tax corporate governance processes and test the operational effectiveness of their tax corporate governance framework.
Research matters of tax administration, get involved in dispute resolution processes and help clients respond to requests for information in the context of ATO reviews and audits.
Be involved in the drafting of objections, private binding ruling requests, requests for amended assessments and submissions against penalties.
Skills and attributes for success
Tax technical skills.
Flexibility to work across tax corporate governance, advise on tax matters, manage information responses to the ATO.
Ability to develop strong and broad relationships with clients and provide a high level of client service.
Ability to work with a number of different clients and internal stakeholders on multiple deadlines.
A Law degree is preferred but not required.

Salary:
We offer a competitive salary which is open to negotiation pending on skills and experience.
