Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160 km east of Geraldton.
The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector Southwest deposits.
Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, the Jumbo Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate drilling of underground development headings in accordance with mine plans.
This includes installing ground support, face preparation, and general jumbo operation duties.
This position will be offered on a 14:14 FIFO roster from Perth or 14:14 DIDO roster from Geraldton.
Key Responsibilities of this Role Will Include Operate twin-boom and/or single-boom jumbos to safely and accurately drill development headings Mark up faces for drilling and ground support installation Install ground support including bolts, mesh, and straps Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock Perform pre-start inspections and report maintenance needs Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and geologists Undertake minor maintenance tasks on equipment Complete shift reports, drill logs, and maintenance logs Take responsibility for the underground nipper while assisting setup, bolting, meshing, and boring Maintain compliance with WHS legislation and site procedures Participate in shift handovers, meetings, and change management processes Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives About You Minimum Year 10 education 3–5 years recent experience operating Jumbo rigs in underground hard rock mining Proficient in drilling techniques, ground control installation, scaling, and equipment maintenance Experience operating Atlas Copco, Sandvik, or similar jumbos Competency in reading and interpreting underground mine plans Understanding of mining regulations, ground conditions, ventilation, and water management Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting Required Certifications WA Manual Driver's Licence (C-Class) WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC) Nationally Accredited Working at Heights Certification Level 1 Level 2 Isolation (Site Inducted) Gas Test Atmospheres Knowledge (Site Inducted) Senior First Aid Certificate What We Offer Competitive salary Long-term incentive plans Paid Parental Leave Paywise offers the following employee benefits to Vault Minerals employees: Novated Lease Vehicles Trade Tools FIFO Travel Portable Electronic Devices Self-Education Airport Lounge Membership Our Recruitment Process As part of our recruitment process, we require a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and a National Police Clearance.
