The Opportunity
Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator, you will be part of a team of tradesmen providing maintenance support to the Carole Park Manufacturing Plant. You will be directed to undertake work to reduce unplanned stoppages and increase production efficiencies across the site.
The electrician will be required to work on components for systems that form electrical (including power reticulation), electronic, or control equipment for the factory.
Rotating Roster: 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off
Day shifts: 6:00am-6:00pm. Night shifts: 6:00pm-6:00am
What you'll do
* Execute electrical maintenance by interpreting and updating circuit drawings, and installing, removing, and maintaining equipment such as motors, cables, switches, sensors, plugs, and lighting systems.
* Conduct online and offline machinery inspections, documenting equipment condition and recommending corrective or improvement actions.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts, electricians, and engineers to investigate machinery faults and respond promptly and safely to breakdowns.
* Work closely with operations to plan and execute maintenance tasks, including resetting equipment overloads and addressing recurring issues.
* Replace electrical components (e.g., wiring, contactors, fuses, relays) within panels under Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Control to Work (CTW) protocols.
* Identify and elevate risks or concerns through appropriate channels.
* Provide detailed feedback on completed work orders and use SAP to enter work notifications and record breakdowns.
* Assist with identifying and implementing plant performance improvement opportunities.
* Ensure that James Hardie's operations are in line with Work Health and Safety Requirements.
* Comply with any reasonable request related to health and safety including attending health and safety related training, participating in health and safety initiatives / activities and ensuring that either your acts or omissions do not place any person at risk.
What you'll bring
* Electrical Trade Certificate or equivalent or higher qualification.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in an Industrial manufacturing environment.
* Commitment to personal safety through following James Hardie's safety vision.
* Good problem solving skills.
* An understanding of sound maintenance and engineering practice, coupled with the ability to apply this understanding in an operating Manufacturing Plant.
* Ability to work as part of a wider team to ensure the ongoing safety and reliable operation of the factory.
* Passion and dedication for reliability and maintainability within a large manufacturing environment operating 24/7.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage time autonomously and can act with a sense of urgency.
* Commitment to the corporate culture, vision, mission and values.
The following are highly desirable, but not required:
* Forklift Licence.
* EWP licence.
* High Voltage training.
