The Opportunity
Hanlon Industries is seeking a National Business Development Manager to lead growth across major projects nationally. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Geelong, VIC, focused on identifying opportunities, shaping early engagement strategies, and converting relationships into secured work.
This role sits at the front end of the business, working closely with clients and internal teams to position Hanlon for success on high-value projects. You will play a key role in guiding opportunity strategy, supporting bid development, and building a strong, sustainable project pipeline.

What You'll Be Responsible For
* Identifying, developing, and progressing new business opportunities across key markets.
* Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
* Leading early engagement and opportunity shaping for major projects.
* Working closely with bids, estimating, and delivery teams to convert opportunities into awarded work.
* Supporting strategic planning and market positioning to achieve national growth objectives.
* Managing key accounts and contributing to repeat and negotiated work pipelines.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in business development, client engagement, or front-end project roles within construction, infrastructure, or related industries.
* Strong relationship-building capability with a consultative, value-led approach.
* Proven ability to identify opportunities and progress them through to award.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to understand project drivers, value, and risk.
* Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* A collaborative approach when working across technical and delivery teams.
* Experience in steel, construction, or industrial environments is advantageous but not essential.
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
