Through strong partnerships with industry, government and local businesses, they play a vital role in developing workforce capability and creating meaningful career pathways for apprentices and trainees across regional Queensland.
With an established reputation and strong community presence, the organisation is now entering its next phase of growth and leadership development. As part of this journey, they are now seeking to appoint a General Manager to provide executive leadership across operations and support the organisation's long‐term strategic growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will provide operational leadership across the organisation while supporting strategic execution and business growth.
This newly established executive role will oversee day‐to‐day operations across regional branches, strengthen employer engagement and support the continued growth of apprenticeship and workforce development services.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing leadership and oversight of day‐to‐day organisational operations
* Driving performance across regional branches and operational teams
* Strengthening employer partnerships and industry engagement
* Supporting the execution of the organisation's strategic growth initiatives
* Identifying opportunities for new partnerships, services and regional expansion
* Overseeing workforce development and supporting staff capability building
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and quality standards
* Supporting the CEO with operational performance insights and strategic planning
* Representing the organisation with key industry, government and community stakeholders
The Candidate
We are seeking a commercially minded and collaborative leader who can balance operational execution, stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking.
The successful candidate will bring:
* Senior leadership experience across operations, workforce development or service delivery organisations
* Strong experience managing teams across regional or geographically dispersed environments
* Demonstrated ability to drive organisational growth and operational performance
* Excellent stakeholder management skills across industry, government and community sectors
* A collaborative leadership style suited to established regional teams
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate strategy into execution
* Experience within group training organisations, vocational education, employment services or labour hire environments would be highly regarded
