We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. Fixed Term Position until December 2025 Full Time at 80 hours per fortnight including an Accrued Day Off Managers and Administrative Worker Grade 4 (HS4-HS29) Alfred Health, Western Health and Monash Health Locations The Department Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. This partnership is aligned with the Victorian Government’s Pathology system reform. The Pathology programs are working in partnership to ensure we meet the future demand and continue to provide high quality pathology services for the patients and community across the health services. In the Partnership, pathology services are provided from two main laboratories (The Alfred in Prahran and Monash Medical Centre in Clayton), and six branch laboratories (Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Moorabbin Hospital, Sandringham Hospital, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospital). In addition, there are 20 collection centres and rooms spread across South East Melbourne and South Gippsland, with the furthest one located in Yarram. The Position Summary The Project aims to deliver a shared Alfred (including Western locations)/Monash Pathology service. It will consider the benefits and risks of this venture, considering previous explorative work carried by the two health services as well as information gathered throughout the project development. The project will run in conjunction with broader pathology system reform being undertaken by the Department of Health. Underpinning this project is the establishment of an operating model for the shared service, including operational and clinical frameworks, quality and safety systems, corporate support services and a shared laboratory information system and various technology components. The Transition Coordinator will be an Alfred Health appointment on behalf of the Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Project. This position will report to the Implementation Lead and will work in close collaboration with the Transition Lead and the Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Project team Skills and Qualifications Required Demonstrated experience in technical cutover planning, execution and support for complex projects. Demonstrated experience in cutover document management, including capturing inter-project dependencies. Demonstrated experience or understanding of cutover management in a health service is desirable Highly developed problem-solving skills through effective analysis of issues and options. Ability to understand and articulate the business needs to support Shared LIS stakeholders in the transition planning and cutover activities Ability to promote a positive approach to change and to encourage participation in decision-making related to cutover planning. Ability to proactively recognise concerns, risks or blockers and escalate in accordance with the cutover plan. Travel between Alfred Health, Western Health and Monash Health sites will be required. Weekend and outside of usual business hours during the "cutover" period may be required.
