Position Description
The Senior Psychologist provides advanced psychological assessment, formulation and evidence‐based psychological therapies to individuals accessing the Integrated Mental Health Hub. This role supports high‐quality clinical service delivery across face‐to‐face and digital modalities and contributes to trauma‐informed, recovery‐oriented, and culturally secure care. The Senior Psychologist will deliver high‐level clinical interventions, provide secondary consultation and clinical supervision to colleagues (without formal line management), participate in multidisciplinary reviews, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and ensure services align with clinical governance, quality, safety and compliance requirements. The role includes responding to complex presentations, crisis response, de‐escalation support, group‐based interventions and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care pathways. Based in and around Toowoomba (homelands of the Jagera, Giabal and Jarowair peoples), with outreach required.
Experience & Knowledge
* Comprehensive knowledge of mental health services, the not‐for‐profit and health and wellbeing sector, with awareness of industry‐specific needs and compliance requirements
* Significant experience in the provision of mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, individual therapy such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness, crisis intervention, and interventions with people experiencing mental health difficulties and/or substance use problems
* Advanced understanding of mental health, trauma, and issues affecting people and their carers and families
* In‐depth understanding of the social determinants of health and mental health recovery principles
* Demonstrated experience working with people in the context of moderate to increasing acuity mental health issues including best treatment options, support services, dual disabilities and co‐morbidity
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain linkages and networks with a range of government, community and corporate stakeholders to facilitate clear referral pathways
* Minimum 5 years clinical experience working in a relevant sector
Position Requirements
* Relevant clinical qualification in psychology and accreditation with a professional body
* Current APHRA registration
* Current state‐based driver's licence
