GBSC are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Supervisor to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical works from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise Electrical Teams: Lead and manage a team of qualified electricians, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with project specifications.
Project Coordination: Work closely with the Project Manager to plan, schedule, and allocate tasks in accordance with the project timeline.
Quality Control: Oversee the quality of installations and repairs, ensuring all work complies with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000) and company expectations.
Safety Management: Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with strict safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safe work environment for all team members
On-Site Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to the team when facing complex electrical issues on site.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all electrical work meets local and national codes and regulations. Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections, and compliance documents.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary on-site contact for electrical matters. Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other trades.
Resource Management: Manage tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and availability to support uninterrupted work.
Training & Development: Mentor and support electricians, fostering a culture of continual learning and professional development.
Inspection & Reporting: Conduct regular inspection, identifying any issues or potential improvements. Provide detailed updates to the Project Manager regarding progress and any challenges encountered.
Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and implement preventative maintenance practices to minimise risk of downtime or system failures.
Skills & Qualifications
Trade Qualification: Australian Electrical Trade Certificate (A Grade Electrician) or equivalent.
Licensing: Current WA Electrical Licence and White Card (or ability to obtain).
Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of electrical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role (preferably in commercial construction).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, control, and emergency systems.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, Australian electrical codes, OH&S standards, and relevant legislation.
Leadership & Problem Solving: Proven leadership experience with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple project components under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Driver's Licence: A valid WA driver's licence is required.
Preferred Attributes
First Aid: Current First Aid certification (preferred but not essential).
Project Management: Experience with scheduling, resource planning, and budgeting on construction sites.
Sustainability: Understanding of energy-efficient technologies and sustainable electrical practices.
Technology: Proficiency with MS Office and project management software.
Additional Safety Training: High-risk work licences or certifications (e.g., working at heights) are a plus.
