About Us

Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria's newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity

Our service is made up of compassionate, curious, and committed people. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Manager to lead a central workforce function in Victoria's first standalone youth mental health service, ensuring safe and continuous care across multiple sites. Working closely with clinical leaders and executive stakeholders, the role plays a key part in enabling high-quality, youth-first mental health care during periods of workforce fluctuation and service demand.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Manager, Workforce Resource Team to lead a central operational function critical to safe, timely and continuous service delivery across PYMHWS.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will provide operational and administrative oversight of the Workforce Resource Team, including the recruitment, onboarding, governance and allocation of bank staff (excluding medical). You will work closely with operational managers and clinical leaders to respond to unplanned vacancies and fluctuating service demand, ensuring workforce flexibility while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and clinical governance.

This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by building sustainable workforce solutions that support excellent youth mental health care.

What You'll Do

* Lead and manage the Workforce Resource Team, fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture
* Develop and oversee responsive workforce solutions to address unplanned vacancies and service demand across all sites
* Manage recruitment, onboarding and compliance of bank staff, ensuring scope of practice and mandatory requirements are met
* Partner with operational managers, clinical leaders, People & Communications and Finance to support service continuity
* Manage relationships with external staffing agencies and sector partners
* Monitor workforce performance, quality, safety and financial sustainability

About You

You are a collaborative and confident leader with strong workforce management experience in complex healthcare settings. You bring a systems mindset, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to youth-first, values-based care.

* AHPRA registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
* Senior leadership experience in public mental health, youth mental health or complex healthcare settings
* Proven experience managing workforce operations/coordinating casual bank, including recruitment and staff deployment
* Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality and safety frameworks
* Commitment to youth-first, trauma-informed and values-based practice
