Overview
As a Strategist at Droga5 Sydney, you'll help develop the strategy that inspires Australia's most iconic and effective creative work. This is a midweight role — we're not looking for someone with all the answers, but you'll need a solid grounding as an agency strategist and a hunger to learn and develop here. You'll work side-by-side with senior strategists, creative teams, business management and clients to develop robust brand strategies, inspiring creative briefs and sharp comms planning across advertising, social media and beyond.
You'll have room to grow, a talented and close-knit team to learn from, and the kind of briefs that make you excited to come to work on Monday.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop brand, creative and comms strategies for a diverse range of Droga5 clients, working with senior planners, creative and business management teams
* Conduct desk research and translate it into concise, compelling strategic analysis
* Monitor brand, competitors, culture, consumer, social media and tech trends — and translate insights into relevant strategies for clients and internal teams
* Use insight tools (Big Datr, Meltwater and Roy Morgan) to uncover what others miss and bring rigour to the strategic process
Creative Briefing & Internal Collaboration
* Write clear, inspiring creative briefs that give our creatives a genuine springboard — not a straightjacket
* Champion effectiveness: understand what makes brands and advertising work, and translate that thinking into smarter creative decisions
* Bring genuine curiosity and hunger to learn
Client & External Engagement
* With support from senior colleagues, contribute in client-facing situations — taking client briefs, conducting stakeholder interviews, collaborating in workshops and presenting strategy work
* Help contribute to award entries that demonstrate the effectiveness of our work
* Be the go-to contact for media, technology and social partners like Spotify, TikTok, Meta and Google — helping the broader team harness what these platforms make possible
Qualifications
* 3 years+ experience as a strategist in a creative agency environment
* A solid understanding of marketing effectiveness beyond the hype
* The confidence and expertise to lead the development of brand, creative and comms strategies and briefs, with oversight and support from more senior colleagues
* A curiosity about culture and love of creativity
* A desire to learn and collaborate and a hunger to grow
Reporting
You'll sit within the Droga5 Sydney Strategy team, reporting into our Head of Strategy and ultimately our CSO. However, cross-functional collaboration is key to our success, so we're looking for someone who loves working closely with creative, media and business management teams.
What's in it for you?
* Flexible hybrid working: 2 days at home, 3 days a week in our Barangaroo office
* Be part of a supportive, close-knit strategy team, with access to world-class creative, media and production capabilities
* Learn from the best at one of Droga5's most highly awarded agencies for effectiveness and creativity, with the opportunity to work on some of the nation's most iconic brands
* Internal and external training opportunities
* Great package of Accenture benefits
