Accounts Receivable Officer Role


About the Position

The Accounts Receivable Officer is a key professional responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts receivable transactions and client billing.

* Key responsibilities include processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
* Daily tasks involve verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* The incumbent will prepare and process all resident billing, ensuring that accounts are accurate and timely.
* A critical component of this role is reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
* The position also involves verifying discrepancies and resolving client billing issues, including client liaison.
* An additional responsibility includes facilitating payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting clients (debt collection) Estate management and arrangement of refunds.
* The Accounts Receivable Officer will ensure all resident movements are accurately recorded to enable the correct calculation of resident fees and charges.
* Financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status will be generated on a regular basis.
* The incumbent will reconcile all expected funding to the monthly Medicare Payment Statements and follow-up variances.
* Other duties as required by the organisation from time to time in accordance with the skills and competencies of the employee.


Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

* Knowledge of accounts receivable principles and practices.
* Experience within aged care or similar industries.
* Knowledge of basic accounting functions and software applications.
* Proficient use of technology including MS Outlook, Excel, Aim, and Inerva.
* Ability to analyse and problem solve complex issues autonomously.
* Proficient in data entry and management.
* 1-3 years accounts receivable or general accounting experience.
* Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
