Job Description
The Gen AI / Artificial Intelligence Sales Specialist is a subject matter expert in positioning HPE AI, identifying and leading engagements with customers. This individual possesses subject matter expertise in AI Platforms & Generative AI and expertise in AI use cases, outcomes and technology stack (HW, SW) as well as differentiation from hyperscalers and traditional competitors. This Sales Specialist is brought into customer discussions to lead AI conversations supported by account managers, influencing the client and helping to close complex deals. The role requires a strong focus on new business development, up‑selling and cross‑selling to existing clients, and securing contract renewals. This will be achieved through solution selling, account planning, and building key relationships with senior stakeholders. The role will collaborate closely with Account Managers and the technical team to ensure customer success, drive retention, and uncover growth opportunities. Your objective will be to deeply understand customers' evolving needs, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and provide tailored solutions to maximize customer value and expand revenue.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth through AI‑powered solutions and scalable business models.
- Lead the commercial strategy, positioning HPE as the go‑to AI solutions provider.
- Build strategic partnerships with businesses looking to embed AI into their operations.
- Champion innovation and execution, ensuring AI solutions are delivered rapidly and successfully.
- Define and execute a go‑to‑market plan that positions us as a leader in AI‑powered business solutions.
- Drive sales, partnerships, and client acquisition for our AI‑driven software solutions.
- Work with our technical team to ensure our AI innovations deliver real business value.
- Maintain knowledge of competitors in account to strategically position the company's products and services better.
- Establish a skilled consultative relationship with the client by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry.
- Drive proposal development, negotiations and deal closings.
- Work closely with and support account manager, providing technical expertise and support, partners with Channel, GSI, and SDPs, and participate in client engagements up to C‑level for more complex solutions in smaller accounts.
- Interface with internal and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
- Build sales readiness and reduce client learning curve through effective knowledge transfer in areas of specialization.
Education and Experience
- Demonstrated success in achieving progressively higher quotas. 3‑4 years advanced Gen AI / Artificial Intelligence product sales experience required.
- Prior solution/platform selling experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing an end‑to‑end sales life cycle – from discovery to delivery.
Delivery Knowledge
- Demonstrated (3‑5 years) of experience selling Gen AI / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning related products.
- Knowledge and expertise of tapping the ASX 200 and Enterprise clients.
- Knowledge and experience within the data science, analytics, or big data markets.
- Proven track record selling Enterprise software for analytics, AI or modeling.
- Deep understanding of key applications and workflows that leverage machine learning, deep learning and AI.
- Capable of engaging in both technical and business conversations at multiple levels of prospective customer’s organization, including with Director/VP level people.
- Thrive in complex orchestration of opportunities across various enterprise personas.
- Ability to work at both tactical and strategic level.
- Demonstrates high service knowledge and professionalism in researching and sharing service‑related information with account teams and customers.
- Understand the channel and work an effective plan to increase sales with partner.
- Rigorous use of Salesforce CRM system updating deal profile and forecasting.
