Global CNC Machinery Leader – Melbourne
A world‑leading manufacturer of high‑precision CNC machine tools, automation and advanced manufacturing technology is expanding its Australian sales team. With operations across more than 40 countries and over 100 sales and service locations globally, the business is known for engineering excellence, precision and innovation.
We're looking for a high‑initiative, hunter‑style Area Sales Manager who thrives on winning new business, building strong relationships and becoming a trusted technical partner to SME manufacturers across automotive, medical, aerospace, machining and engineering.

You'll be selling premium CNC technology into high‑value SME clients investing over $550k per machine. With long sales cycles and deep technical engagement, this role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, strategic hunting and closing complex solution sales. You'll also benefit from international training and events in Europe and Asia.
What you'll be doing
* Driving new business aggressively across your territory
* Targeting SMEs (5–50 staff) that typically purchase machines every couple of years
* Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
* Selling CNC machinery, automation and turnkey manufacturing solutions
* Conducting on‑site visits, technical conversations and detailed machine proposals
* Working closely with applications, engineering and service teams
* Attending national and international training and industry events
What we're looking for
* Strong CNC/machining industry knowledge (operation, programming or machine‑tool sales)
* Experience with brands like Mazak, John Hart, OKUMA, Haas or similar
* Trade background (Fitter/Turner, Machinist) or mechanical/industrial exposure is beneficial
* A proactive hunter who enjoys generating leads, chasing opportunities and closing deals
* High attention to detail with the ability to understand complex machinery specs
* Australian PR or Citizenship required
What's on offer
* Base salary: $100k
* Car allowance: $22k + fuel card
* Laptop, phone and tools of trade
* OTE approximately double base (6% of GP + bonuses)
* Additional $20k annual bonus for meeting targets
