Job Overview
The Senior Civil Justice Director will be responsible for leading our team of lawyers delivering community legal services. This key role involves overseeing programs that promote access to justice, including the Health Justice Partnership, Rental Stress Hub, and Deakin Lawyer Program.
* Develop and implement strategic plans to improve access to civil justice
* Mentor and supervise staff to ensure high-quality legal services
* Oversee program delivery and manage risks associated with each initiative
* Work closely with stakeholders to advance social justice goals
The ideal candidate has a strong civil law background, excellent leadership skills, and experience in managing teams and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of lawyers and support staff
* Provide expert advice on civil law matters
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals
About You:
* Postgraduate degree in law (LLM or equivalent)
* Proven track record of leadership and management experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with civil law principles and practices
