The Palms Cremorne Pty Ltd is a vibrant and contemporary hospitality venue committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and lead culinary operations with creativity, leadership, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
- Design and adapt menus to align with customer preferences and quality standards.
- Manage inventory, estimate food requirements, and control food and labor costs.
- Supervise kitchen staff, fostering a culture of efficiency, collaboration, and excellence.
- Oversee kitchen equipment purchases, maintenance, and repairs.
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff as needed.
- Handle customer complaints and kitchen issues in a professional manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to nutrition, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional work environment.
- Manage a robust food safety program, including regular documentation and compliance checks.
- Schedule staff rosters and manage supply ordering efficiently.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide ongoing guidance and training.
- Monitor and enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations.
- Cultivate strong working relationships within the team and across departments.
- Optimize workflow to manage time effectively during preparation and service.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent leadership and kitchen management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of culinary trends and kitchen process optimization.
- Competence in using MS Office, POS systems, and restaurant management software.
- Relevant health and safety certifications.
- A diploma from a recognized culinary school or a degree in food service management (preferred).
