Role
This is a Fixed Term Part Time position at FTE per fortnight to cover Parental Leave until October **** within the Neurosciences team of the Physiotherapy Department.
Preferred days of work are Monday and Friday.
You will be working primarily in the neurosurgery and neuro-oncology caseload, and will also be responsible for the provision of physiotherapy services within the neurosciences specialty areas including acute respiratory, neuromuscular weakness, brain injury, epilepsy, neonatal care, neurosurgery, neurology, developmental care, neural tube defects, bone health, plagiocephaly, aquatic therapy and concussion management.
Service delivery within other Physiotherapy streams may be required to meet workforce demands as directed by the manager.
You will also job-share the team leader role for the neurosciences team as well as the department service development portfolio.
Within these roles you will be responsible for strong clinical and professional leadership of the neurosciences team, as well as developing strategic and service planning processes within the department.
Classification for this position will range from Grade 4 Year 1 to Grade 4 Year 4, VB24-VB27 (FTE base salary $123,609 to $136,203 FTE per annum, plus superannuation).
What you'll achieve :
Lead high-performing clinical teams, and provide expert, authoritative judgement and advice on clinical issues as required
Anticipate and broker resolution of conflict situations, acting to keep a relative balance among the interests of stakeholders and to promote understanding, respect and trust between different groups
Articulate and embody the purpose and values of RCH
Lead and contribute to improvement in department management and function, strategic direction and service planning
Delegate healthcare activity to others according to their competence and scope of practice to ensure appropriate workload management and prioritisation across the department, ensuring others can self-manage and regulate their workload
Develop and foster a lifelong learning culture across the department, and support grade 1, 2 and 3 physiotherapists in developing and accomplishing professional goals and objectives through clinical support, supervision and performance reviews
Your skills and experience :
Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
Have extensive specialised knowledge in Physiotherapy relevant to an area/s of practice within the neurosciences team of the Physiotherapy Department
At least ten years of paediatric clinical experience
Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of a clinical Physiotherapy team
Demonstrated experience in the education and supervision of physiotherapists
