Job Summary

This is a critical role that requires an expert in fire safety engineering to provide specialist services and technical advice to stakeholders on fire safety upgrades, issues, standards, policies, and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing fire safety related technical matters, including fire safety orders, development control orders, NSW fire and rescue complaints, and coordinating responses to external stakeholders to resolve issues raised.

They will also develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems to meet changing business requirements and stakeholder needs.

In addition, the role involves undertaking quality assurance audits on fire safety maintenance and upgrade projects to ensure compliance with NSW standards and legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, councils, FRNSW, building inspectors, and other assets division business streams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide specialist fire safety engineering services and expert technical advice to stakeholders on fire safety upgrades, issues, standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
* Review fire safety related technical matters, including fire safety orders, development control orders, NSW fire and rescue complaints, and coordinate responses to external stakeholders to resolve issues raised.
* Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems to meet changing business requirements and stakeholder needs.
* Undertake quality assurance audits on fire safety maintenance and upgrade projects to ensure compliance with NSW standards and legislative requirements.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, councils, FRNSW, building inspectors, and other assets division business streams.
* Exercise responsibility for own and others' safety in the workplace, comply with OHS safe work procedures, report any incidents and hazards, and attend OHS training as directed.

Requirements:

* Expertise in fire safety engineering and strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review and interpret complex technical information.
* Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
