Head Chef / Food Manager - Lead a rapidly growing food brand
An established and highly respected South Australian food brand is seeking a highly experienced Chef / Food Manager to lead and oversee both fresh and cooked food manufacturing operations.
This is a senior leadership role suited to a commercially minded food professional who understands production at scale - without compromising quality.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing daily production across fresh and cooked food lines, ensuring consistency, compliance, efficiency, and product excellence. You will lead a skilled team while driving innovation, food safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee fresh and cooked food manufacturing operations.
* Manage Production planning, rostering and workflow efficiency.
* Maintain strict food safety & HACCP compliance.
* Lead, mentor and develop kitchen and production staff.
* Control food costs, wastage and stock management.
* Ensure consistency in product quality and presentation.
* Collaborate with senior management on product development and growth initiatives.
Qualifications
* Must have minimum 5 years' experience in a management position within food production or manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of both cooked and fresh food production.
* Demonstrated experience managing teams in a high-volume environment.
* Sound understanding of food safety regulations.
* Commercially aware with strong organizational skills.
* Proven leadership with a hands‐on approach.
* Background in wholesale, retail food production or FMCG.
* Formal culinary qualifications.
