Overview
Join the Assembly Mechanic role at Rheinmetall in Redbank, based full time at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE).
The Assembly Mechanic reports to the Assembly Team Lead and works with a team of Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers as part of the Production team, which includes Painters, Welders, the Prototype Shop, the Armour Shop and the Logistic Systems team. As Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) continues to expand, the Production team will grow through 2025 and into 2026.
Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical build tasks for Vehicles and Subsystems in first-run production, following Manufacturing Instructions, Engineering Drawings, Quality Standards and WHS requirements.
* Read and interpret production drawings, manuals and technical documents.
* Collaborate with a team of Mechanics, Electricians and Production Workers to ensure high-quality and on-time assembly.
What You Should Bring / Qualifications
* Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent.
* Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
* Self-motivation, initiative, the ability to work unsupervised and willingness to participate as part of a team.
* Ability to travel interstate or overseas for short training periods (infrequent).
* Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
