Band 8 - Salary Range $127,546 to $142,788 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to work in this high profile and visible role, in one of Australia's fastest growing municipalities working closely with the Senior Portfolio Leads to manage project demands and deliver councils diverse and complex portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Lead, you will manage large scale projects and programs of councils Capital Delivery Program.

* Effective project planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms to meet the needs of corporate reporting requirements.
* Undertake all tasks necessary for the successful program and project management of assigned large scale capital programs and projects in the planning, development, programming, design, construction, change process and handover of same.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and comply with Council's policies and procedures as they relate to the project management of large-scale capital projects.
* Coordinate all aspects of organisational change associated with assigned programs and projects.
* Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and in accordance with the approved Business Case.
* Provide budgetary control and provide regular reports to Council, Executive, Project Sponsor and Project Owner on all aspects of assigned programs and projects.
* Develop and contribute to the Business Case for Council's suite of large-scale capital programs and projects.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

* Tertiary qualifications in engineering, building, project management or equivalent, or qualifications in another field or lesser formal qualifications with extensive and diverse experience in all aspects of program and project management.
* Extensive experience in program and project management of large-scale local government infrastructure projects.
* Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to present to Council, Executive, staff, government and a range external stakeholder.
* Ability to develop budgets and monitor and report on significant expenditure to ensure that projects are delivered within allocated budgets.
* Ability to evaluate a range of options and prepare a Business Case for large complex projects.
* Hold a current Victorian driver's licence.
* Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
* Hold a White Card or Construction Induction Card.
