Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes Specialist
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Diabetes is a senior healthcare professional responsible for providing expert clinical leadership to the diabetes service. The CNC aligns with the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of our services.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement dynamic harm reduction strategies for patients, focusing on clinical deterioration.
* Provide expert clinical care and advice to patients, healthcare professionals, and carers in relation to best practice.
* Develop, facilitate, implement, and evaluate care plans in consultation with Visiting Medical Officers, Staff Specialists, Junior Medical Officers, and nursing and allied health teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse is essential. A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent, and a postgraduate qualification in the specialty field, are also required.
A minimum of 5 years full-time post-registration experience and at least 3 years' experience in the specialty field are necessary. Credentialed Diabetes Educator status is highly desirable.
