Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join our catering services team in a permanent part-time position.
This role involves preparing nutritious and appetising meals for patients, staff, doctors, the cafe, and hospital functions.
Main Responsibilities
* Prepare high-quality meals that cater to diverse dietary requirements.
* Maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Support daily kitchen operations, including ordering, stock rotation, and food safety compliance.
* Work collaboratively in a busy team environment, reporting to the executive chef.
* Prepare and cook meals, including cold larder and special diets.
* Understand and meet patient dietary requirements.
* Ensure food safety compliance (HACCP) and accurate record keeping.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen and equipment.
* Assist with stock management and ordering.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential).
* Strong understanding of food hygiene and OH&S standards.
* Proven experience in food preparation for individuals and groups (hospital experience highly regarded).
* Ability to manage high-volume workflows with strong organisation skills.
* Excellent teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
* Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
* Unrestricted working rights in Australia (sponsorship not available).
