Geraldton Senior High School (SHS) invites applications for a permanent full-time Teaching position in Term 4, 2025 (commencement negotiable). This role supports students with diverse learning needs within the Discrete Program, operating a one-teacher model and integrating Literacy and Numeracy development with potential Project Based Learning and Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network initiatives.

The Role 
This teaching position provides a learning program to support students with diverse learning needs not yet reaching their potential. The Discrete Program will involve a one-teacher model with students participating in specialist and Health and Physical Education classes. The role also focuses on improving literacy and numeracy, with opportunities to develop the program around Project Based Learning and Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network. 
Line Management: 
The Engagement Teacher is line managed by the Program Coordinator Student Services (PCSS) and supported by Year 9 and 10 Deputy Principal. 
Key priorities: 
In Term 4 2025, assist in the development of operational and logistical planning for a sustainable program offering, in consultation with the PCSS and Deputy Principal. 
Develop curriculum and resources to ensure flexibility and engagement for students facing barriers to success in mainstream schooling. 
Annually liaise with Executive, PCSS (years 9–10) and PCSS (years 7–8) to plan and transition selected Year 8 students into the program for the following year; include parent meetings and orientation/transition programs. 
Develop strong relationships with students and stakeholders to foster productive partnerships and improved outcomes. 
Collaborate with PCSS to identify and implement strategies to improve engagement and attendance for selected students.
