Security Clearance: Negative Vetting 2 preferred (minimum NV1 depending on role level)

About the role

This role supports a Defence maritime ICT environment delivering mission critical systems and services used across deployed and shore based operations. The position focuses on the sustainment, support and enhancement of secure ICT systems and network infrastructure operating in both standard and degraded communications environments.

You will work within a complex integrated environment supporting system availability, network performance and secure communications across distributed Defence platforms. The role includes both operational support and technical delivery activities depending on level.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide support for mission critical ICT systems in secure Defence environments
* Diagnose and resolve complex technical and network related incidents
* Support operations in degraded or intermittent connectivity environments (DDIL)
* Maintain system availability through monitoring, troubleshooting and proactive support
* Ensure system and network configurations comply with Defence security standards
* Support deployment, build and integration of ICT systems, infrastructure and network services
* Maintain identity, messaging and core infrastructure services in distributed environments
* Manage incident response including prioritisation, escalation and resolution within SLA requirements
* Develop, review and maintain technical documentation including SOPs and build guides
* Support patching, upgrades and system maintenance in line with Defence schedules
* Engage with vendors and partner teams to resolve technical issues
* Participate in on call rotations for high priority incidents where required
* Support system build and deployment activities including on site and set to work support
* Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes and service delivery

Required Skills

* Experience working in Defence or other highly secure ICT environments
* Strong understanding of enterprise networking including routing, switching and segmentation
* Experience with VPNs, VLANs and firewall technologies
* Experience supporting Microsoft based infrastructure including Active Directory and Exchange
* Experience working with virtualised infrastructure environments
* Strong incident management and troubleshooting capability in complex environments
* Ability to operate within strict security and operational constraints
* Strong communication skills and ability to engage technical and non technical stakeholders
* Experience working within structured operational or service delivery environments
* Experience supporting Defence maritime or deployed ICT environments
* Exposure to integrated Defence mission systems or similar environments
* Experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
* Knowledge of ITIL service management practices
* Experience with monitoring, logging and network telemetry toolsExposure to enterprise security tooling and network monitoring platforms
* Experience with VoIP, wireless or advanced networking services
* Experience supporting complex system build, integration or deployment activities
* Leadership or coordination experience for senior level roles
