What will you do
We're seeking a Graduate Maritime Engineer who is passionate about water-based structures. In your role you will support engineering assignments and projects to help them meet timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake concept designs and detailed designs of projects such as port and harbour works, quay walls, wharves, jetties, dolphins, piles, sheet pile and other retaining or seawalls, waterfront development, boat harbours, navaids and the like.
Perform structural analysis and design calculations for the reinforced concrete, steel, timber and aluminium structures.
Undertake site inspections and surveys.
Prepare technical documents such as Basis of Design, design reports, technical notes and feasibility studies.
Prepare specifications, Bills of Quantities and assist with contract documents for construction projects.
Assist in preparing work plans to undertake such projects.
Check other engineer's works as required.
Supervise and instruct sub-professionals (drafters) in preparation of technical drawings.
Assist where appropriate in business development (meeting clients, writing capability statements, preparing marketing materials).
Help prepare technical proposals to undertake major and minor maritime engineering projects.
Undertake self learning and continuing professional development (CPD) as required by Engineers Australia (50 hours minimum equivalent per annum).

Civil or Structural Engineering Degree – essential.
Willing to learn structural engineering software – essential.
Experience in maritime engineering projects – desirable.
