The Fish Factory is excited to announce a job opportunity for a FOH Kitchen Assistant to join our team Reporting to the kitchen Head Chefs and overseen by the GM - Retail, you will be passionate about assisting customers and ensuring high levels of customer service. Possessing strong communication skills, you will be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Being flexible and adaptable by nature will allow you to build relationships and work autonomously with high levels of self-initiative. Your role
Working a full-time roster, including one weekend day, this role will see you work at the forefront of our kitchen operation. The successful candidate will have a genuine and positive character that is able to verbally promote weekly specials while providing exceptional customer service. You will work part of a vibrant and culturally diverse team operating within the kitchen and retail environment. Reporting to the kitchen supervisor, the successful candidates duties include:
* Taking, preparation and serving of customer orders
* Regular and ongoing promotion of weekly specials and add-on items
* Table service
* Wrapping/plating up meals for bistro/takeaway
* General duties in retail fresh section
* Assistance with set-up and shutdown of bistro, cooked and/or fresh sections
* Processing customers EFT and CASH payments and issuing change
* Food preparation duties as required
* General duties as required
Experience, qualifications & personal attributes
Essential
1. Retail industry experience,
2. Cash handling experience,
3. Exceptional communication & customer service experience
4. Self-initiative
5. Knowledge, qualification and/or proven application of training in food safety & hygiene standards,
6. Ability to work in a busy environment, and under pressure,
7. Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude,
8. Excellent presentation,
9. Strong work ethic.
Desirable
1. Sound knowledge of seafood
2. Experience within the hospitality industry
3. RSA certification,
