We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our dedicated team, helping deliver high-quality meals that nourish and connect our community. From Meals on Wheels to event catering, your work will support vital services that brighten lives every day.
This casual position is based at the Meals on Wheels kitchen at the Suncare Community Centre in Maroochydore. We're seeking someone available every Monday and Tuesday from 6am to 1pm, with the potential for additional weekday morning shifts as needed.
More about the role
Reporting to the Chef Manager you will:
* Support the daily operations of Suncare food services, including Meals on Wheels production and delivery
* Assist the Chef Manager in guiding and training kitchen staff and volunteers
* Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
* Prepare meals using the approved recipe cards and ingredients to meet production deadlines
* Assist with packaging and distributing meals
* Help manage inventory, deliveries, procurement, and ordering
What you will bring to our team

You will possess:
* A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
* A current Certificate in Food Safety Handling and knowledge of HACCP food safety principles
* Medium to high level computer literacy to support kitchen operations
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Current satisfactory Police Check or willingness to obtain one
