The Boorai Family Practitioner delivers culturally safe, trauma-informed case management for Aboriginal children, young people, and families. Working in culturally appropriate settings, the role promotes their emotional, developmental, and cultural wellbeing. You will collaborate with parents, the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), and key stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children. Core responsibilities include leading care team meetings and recording outcomes, conducting home visits, and making referrals to services that support family reunification. This role is underpinned by the principles of Aboriginal self-determination and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal children and families. About You

Qualifications and Registrations: Diploma in Community Services or a related field (minimum requirement). Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of Aboriginal culture, intergenerational trauma, and their impacts on families. Knowledge of the out-of-home care system, including legislation, frameworks, cultural support planning, and Aboriginal Child Placement Principles. Experience in case management, including risk assessment, referrals, care team coordination, and culturally responsive practice. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and compliance with organisational and legislative requirements. Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and carers. Well-developed organisational skills to manage competing demands, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a team. What We Offer

Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award – Level 4, Pay Point 1- 4 based on experience and qualifications. Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
