We're offering a highly sought‐after Advanced Training opportunity in General Obstetrics & Gynaecology, commencing August 2026. Based in a high‐volume tertiary setting, this role offers exceptional clinical exposure across both specialties, supported by experienced leaders and a collaborative team environment.

This is a unique opportunity to accelerate your development as a well‐rounded Obstetrician & Gynaecologist while gaining experience in one of Australia's leading women's health services.

Mater Mothers Hospital is Queensland's largest maternity provider, delivering more than 11,000 babies each year and leading the state in publicly funded gynaecology services.

Working closely with experienced consultants, you'll:

* Provide comprehensive care across the full maternity journey, including high‐risk and complex cases
* Perform and assist in advanced gynaecological procedures, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
* Participate in colposcopy, fertility assessment, and specialised gynaecology clinics, including endometriosis and young adult care
* Build confidence in independent clinical decision‐making, supported by senior medical staff
* Contribute to a collaborative, high‐performing multidisciplinary team

You'll also have the opportunity to take part in the Mater Flying O&G Service, supporting rural and regional Queensland through outreach rotations and expanding your scope of practice in diverse clinical settings.

About you

You are a motivated Obstetrics & Gynaecology core or advanced registrar with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development. You bring a proactive approach to learning and are keen to contribute to a high‐performing, collaborative team.

You will demonstrate:

* Active engagement in teaching, audit, research and quality improvement activities
* A commitment to developing both obstetric and gynaecological clinical skills
* Strong communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary environment

This role is suited to core or advanced trainees in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Senior registrars will be supported to undertake relevant Advanced Training Modules (ATMs), including generalist obstetrics and gynaecology, essential O&G skills, colposcopy, and hysteroscopy and/or laparoscopy.

We also welcome applications from core trainees, including those considering relocation or moving interstate, who are looking to build their experience within a leading tertiary service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Current registration as a Medical Practitioner without conditions with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Mater is Queensland's largest not‐for‐profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals. We're leaders in healthcare, education, fundraising & philanthropy and research.
