We are seeking a passionate and highly organised book buyer to join our team. This role would be ideal for a teacher, librarian, or bookseller with a strong knowledge of children's and young adult literature, excellent editorial skills, and a keen eye for detail.
This is a varied role combining manuscript evaluation, title curation, editorial oversight, and database management, supporting two key programs: Australian Standing Orders and Literacy Pro.
About the Role
You will be responsible for selecting high-quality titles, managing editorial and inventory workflows, and ensuring accurate, timely content delivery across platforms. Working closely with publishers and internal teams, you will play a key role in providing schools with the best new publishing available nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
ASO (Australian Standing Orders)
* Select the best new titles each month from Australian publishers
* Proofread and edit all teacher notes provided by publishers
* Prepare monthly cover pages for each book category
* Manage the monthly offers in our database and work with our purchasing team to ensure supply of the required books
Literacy Pro
* Select 45 titles for each school term, making sure the list covers a broad range of reading abilities and interests
* Manage the design of marketing collateral for each term
* Manage the Lexile assessment of each title
* Assist with writing/coordinating digital quizzes to assess students' comprehension of the books

About You
* Background as a teacher, librarian, or bookseller (or similar experience in education or publishing)
* Strong knowledge of children's and YA fiction
* Excellent proofreading and editing skills
* Confident communicator with experience liaising with publishers
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* Comfortable working with databases and content management
* InDesign and website skills will be highly regarded
