Job Title: Business Development Lead
This is a Full-Time role working in a dynamic environment. The Business Development Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining sales activity for assigned account base in order to generate revenue, in line with annual business plans and strategic revenue targets.
The successful candidate will develop new business opportunities to drive continual business and revenue into the portfolio of Hotels. This includes:
* conducting site inspections showcasing the portfolio of Hotels to new and existing clients
* developing and maintaining sales activities for assigned account base and in line with segmentation targets.
* promoting Hotels nationally, through networking events, Trade Shows, Conferences, in professional situations and industry groups.
* targeting new business opportunities for corporate and conference sales driving hotel business and awareness
* developing and maintaining a contact and customer database within the Hotels market segments.
* prospecting for new business via tools available, telemarketing and face-to-face meetings
* preparing sales proposals to clients incorporating clearly defined terms and conditions.
* drafting and reviewing contracts and RFP's
* developing a thorough understanding of all processes and systems used by Hotels
* monitoring competitor information and activities through client feedback, local knowledge and research
* meeting minimum sales calls/appointment targets weekly
* proactively sourcing leisure group business for the Hotels portfolio
* preparing sales reports as required for senior management
* conducting quarterly reviews with allocated account base
Requirements:
* At least 2 years' experience as a business development executive
* Natural flair and passion for business development
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Strong negotiation & follow-up skills
* Strong client management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
* Proactive approach to sourcing new business with an ability to develop strong relationships with customers and senior management
* Advanced time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
* Deep understanding of hotel consortia programs, RFPs, and IT applications: Opera, Global Distribution System, and Microsoft suite
* Flexibility to travel interstate if required
