Summary
The Project Engineer provides critical engineering, technical, and administrative support to ensure the successful delivery of civil construction projects from planning through to completion. This role coordinates design reviews, manages subcontractors, oversees cost and progress forecasting, ensures compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements, and collaborates closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers and construction teams to achieve project outcomes. Your work will directly support delivery of high-quality infrastructure across Queensland.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate site management plans including quality, safety, traffic and environmental controls.
* Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors and equipment.
* Monitor project progress, financial forecasts and reporting requirements.
* Engage with the project team, clients and stakeholders to maintain smooth delivery.
* Support tender processes, short term programming and planning activities.
* Maintain documentation including ITPs, QA records, NCRs and register updates.
* Assist in reviewing construction designs, specifications and identifying issues early.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, permits and safety standards.
* Contribute to developing strong, high performing teams through collaboration and communication.
Skills & Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent (Engineers Australia recognised).
* Demonstrated civil construction experience (TMR experience highly regarded).
* Strong planning, communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage timelines, safety standards, and cost forecasting.
* Proficiency with project management tools and construction documentation.
* Ability to work collaboratively and juggle multiple priorities.
* Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
