The Kings Park Science Program undertakes research in native plant biology, underpinning the conservation and ecological restoration of Western Australia's unique biodiversity. Our research is focused on restoration ecology and ecophysiology, seed science, conservation genetics, conservation biotechnology, ecosystem ecology, fire ecology and systematics.
We are seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants in the role of Research Scientist and Senior Research Scientist (Ecophysiology or Molecular Ecology).
The positions will deliver on an externally funded research program focussing on developing and implementing ecophysiological or molecular ecology (population genetics and population ecology) research relevant to rare plant species and their abiotic and biotic associations in the Pilbara. The positions will be required to collaborate with external mining partners, lead remote fieldwork campaigns and supervise laboratory and field technicians to efficiently deliver the research program.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following seven (7) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
* Some (SC Level 1), broad (SC Level 2) or considerable/high level (SC Level 3) knowledge of and experience in, designing and implementing plant ecophysiology or molecular ecology research relevant to the conservation of Australian native plant systems.
* Some (SC Level 1), broad (SC Level 2) or an extensive (SC Level 3) understanding and knowledge of Work Health and Safety across government and/or relevant industry sectors.
* Some (SC Level 1), well-developed (SC Level 2) or demonstrated high level (SC Level 3) written communication skills including ability to produce peer reviewed scientific papers and/or industry reports.
* Some (SC Level 1), directly relevant (SC Level 2) or demonstrated high level (SC Level 3) interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Some (SC Level 1), relevant (SC Level 2) or demonstrated high level experience (SC Level 3) in projectmanagement, including the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines, and manage projectbudgets.
* Current Motor Vehicle Drivers' Licence.
* Capacity and capability to work and travel (frequently) to remote parts of Western Australia.
