For more than 100 years, Surf Life Saving South Australia (SLSSA) has played a vital role in keeping South Australians safe on and around the water, while building strong, connected and inclusive communities. As one of the State's most respected and trusted not-for-profit organisations, SLSSA leads a large and diverse movement of approx. 7,000 volunteers and professionals delivering lifesaving services, education, sport and community programs across metropolitan and regional South Australia.
Following the successful tenure of the outgoing Chief Executive Officer (CEO), an opportunity exists for a new CEO to provide inspirational leadership for this high-profile entity, offering state-based leadership with genuine national influence at a time of strength, opportunity and increasing complexity. Reporting to a highly experienced and credible Board, the CEO will lead SLSSA's strategic direction, financial sustainability and external influence, while supporting and enabling one of the largest volunteer workforces in South Australia. Key responsibilities include:
* leading delivery of the SLSSA strategy to strengthen lifesaving capability, community impact and organisational sustainability;
* representing SLSSA with senior government, national bodies, sponsors and partners, maintaining influence across key decision-making forums;
* overseeing sound financial management, governance, risk and compliance across a growing and diversified revenue base;
* fostering a high performing executive team and a culture that supports both staff and volunteers through inclusive, influence-based leadership;
* strengthening collaboration within the federated Surf Life Saving model and maximising South Australia's contribution and voice nationally.
