Description
The Project and Data Quality officer performs project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of the Communicable Disease Transition Plan, which is gradually transitioning the management of notifiable conditions from the Victorian Department of Health to local public health units. The Project and Data Quality Officer also plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the Case Review and Data Quality Framework, critical to support quality and continual improvement.
Reporting to the Health Protection Manager the Project and Data Quality Officer provides support to meet current objectives to provide and deliver high quality, local, place-based epidemiology, surveillance, investigation and response to reduce and respond to communicable disease risk.
They provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementation and monitoring project plans to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established project methodology.
The Project and Data Quality Officer actively contributes to the implementation of the Case Review and Data Quality Framework by performing case reviews, analysing, documenting and maintaining records to support the high standard of delivery of investigation and response to communicable disease risk.
This position will also support other business needs within the health protection section as needed. This may include support for follow up of notifiable communicable diseases and activities in environmental health and emergency management.

The Community and Public Health Services Division has a primary focus on improving the health outcomes of the communities in our region. With a range of local and regional programs supporting place-based health promotion, prevention, care and support, they work collaboratively with other Divisions and regional partnerships and networks to support quality outcomes.
