Pitch & Pulse Academy Pty Ltd is a newly established private music school providing structured, personalised instrumental and vocal tuition to learners across all age groups.
We focus on building confidence, technique, and creativity through individually tailored programs covering classical, modern and multicultural genres.
To meet rapid enrolment growth, we are seeking a skilled Music Teacher (Private Tuition) ANZSCO specialising in one-to-one and small-group lessons, with diverse instrumental capability and experience preparing students for formal exams and performances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
* Deliver high-quality private lessons in vocal and instrumental performance, including violin and tabla.
* Teach music theory and practical skills including notation, rhythm, melody, harmony, ear training, and structured practice techniques.
* Develop and follow individualised lesson plans based on age, skill level and student goals.
* Prepare students for graded music examinations, recital performances, and school competitions.
* Conduct both individual and group sessions, ensuring engagement and progress across each learner.
* Organise and support student showcases, assessment days and cultural/music events.
* Maintain lesson records, learner assessments and attendance tracking.
* Adapt teaching for mixed levels from beginner to advanced, using confidence-building instruction and creative methods.
* Collaborate with parents and academy management on performance goals and learning pathways.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We are seeking someone with:
* Bachelor of Performing Arts (Music) or equivalent (minimum).
* Minimum 2 years prior experience teaching music privately.
* Proficiency in multiple teaching areas, including:
* Vocal training
* Violin instruction
* Harmonium instruction
* Tabla and rhythmic foundation
* Beginner/intermediate instrument coaching
* Demonstrated experience preparing students for:
* Public recitals
* Competitions
* Cultural showcases
* Examination pathways
* Visharad certifications
* Strong communication & classroom engagement skills for students aged 5 years to adult.
* Experience teaching diverse ability levels and adapting lesson structure to learning needs.
* Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
Highly desirable
* Experience updating teaching materials or contributing to curriculum frameworks
* Event planning, student recital coordination
* Multicultural music knowledge, or South Asian classical familiarity
REMUNERATION
$85,000 per annum + superannuation, based on qualifications and experience.
