**NDIS Compliance Officer – Restrictive Practices & Quality Assurance

Position Overview
The NDIS Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the organisation meets all legislative, regulatory, and reporting obligations under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework. This role provides specialist oversight of restrictive practices, incident management, behaviour support compliance, and internal quality systems.
The position is suited to a detail‑driven professional with extensive experience in restrictive practice reporting, audit preparation, and safeguarding participants' rights. The Compliance Officer works closely with operational teams, behaviour support practitioners, support coordinators, and senior leadership to maintain a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Restrictive Practices & Behaviour Support Compliance
• Oversee the reporting, monitoring, and reduction of all regulated restrictive practices in line with NDIS Commission requirements.
• Ensure timely submission of monthly reports, reportable incidents, unauthorised restrictive practice notifications, and behaviour support compliance documentation.
• Review behaviour support plans for accuracy, quality, and alignment with legislative requirements.
• Work collaboratively with practitioners and support teams to implement least‑restrictive alternatives and safeguard participant rights.
• Maintain accurate, audit‑ready records of all restrictive practice use, approvals, and expiry dates.
Quality, Risk & Safeguarding
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct, and organisational policies.
• Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions, training, and system improvements.
• Monitor incident trends, risk indicators, and safeguarding concerns, escalating issues appropriately.
• Support the organisation to maintain a high standard of participant safety, dignity, and service quality.
Regulatory Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and submit high‑quality compliance reports, incident summaries, and regulatory notifications within required timeframes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NDIS legislation, Commission updates, and best‑practice safeguarding approaches.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, defensible, and aligned with audit and governance expectations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
• Provide guidance and training to staff on restrictive practices, incident reporting, and compliance obligations.
• Liaise with the NDIS Commission, behaviour support practitioners, guardians, and internal teams to ensure consistent and lawful practice.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Skills & Experience
• Extensive experience in NDIS compliance, quality assurance, or safeguarding roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in restrictive practice reporting, behaviour support compliance, and incident management.
• Strong understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework, Practice Standards, and legislative requirements.
• High‑level analytical, documentation, and audit skills.
• Ability to interpret complex information and provide clear, actionable advice.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and training capability.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to participant rights.
• Ability to commence immediately.

Qualifications
• Relevant qualification in disability, community services, social work, psychology, compliance, or related field (desirable).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (required).
• Understanding of positive behaviour support principles (highly regarded).
• Training in incident management, restrictive practices, or safeguarding frameworks (advantageous).
