The opportunity to join our team
We're looking for a first-line technology risk senior specialist to partner with our Data Automation & AI business unit and to ensure innovation moves swiftly and responsibly. If you thrive on solving complex problems, building trusted relationships, and turning ambiguity into clear, actionable controls, this role is for you.
As we scale data and AI across the enterprise, your mission is to embed practical, business-aligned risk and governance, from data lifecycle and privacy to AI transparency and control testing, so teams can deliver responsibly and confidently. You'll work closely with senior leadership, understand their priorities, and help them navigate incidents, issues, and controls with clarity and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on data risk and technology governance controls aligned to frameworks and regulations (APRA CPS 230/234, CPG 235)
* Implement risk uplift programs and embed data governance practices across Technology
* Assess and monitor risks for data-driven and AI-enabled initiatives; manage incidents and issues
* Establish and advise on AI governance frameworks, transparency, and emerging regulations
* Develop key risk indicators and metrics for AI and data risks
* Mentor junior team members and collaborate with privacy, technology governance, and control testing teams
What you will bring
* Proven risk/compliance experience in 1st line technology risk (financial services preferred)
* Strong knowledge of APRA requirements and data governance frameworks
* Experience with data lifecycle management, retention, and quality controls
* Ability to analyse complex data/AI risk scenarios and provide actionable recommendations
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including board-level reporting
* Interest in AI, automation, and bots; ability to work autonomously and in a team
