EL1 - IT Organisational Change Management Lead
Organised within the Chief Operating Officer Group within the department, the Information Technology (IT) Division’s purpose is to connect people and technology, empowering the department to excel.
IT Division is responsible for the consolidated provision and support of stable and secure IT systems, applications, and services to all department users across all States and Territories, including Indian Ocean Territories and Norfolk Island. It also supports seven Ministerial offices, six Groups, and collaborates with portfolio entities.
The division provides digital collaboration and communication tools to connect a geographically dispersed workforce and optimize hybrid working arrangements. We manage industry and public-facing digital systems, deliver desktop services to over 2,200 staff, support over 30 office locations across Australia, and oversee the department’s cybersecurity capabilities.
The advertised position is for our IT Organisational Change Management (OCM) lead, a recently established role heading our IT Organisation Change Management capability. The OCM team is key to ensuring successful adoption of digital modernization with minimal disruption to our business operations. It is critical for uplifting change management and digital literacy within the division and department.

What will you do?
As the IT Organisational Change Management lead, you will help the department leverage new technologies, ensuring staff are prepared and supported throughout the technology uplift journey. Your key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic planning and management for the OCM team, including workload and resource management, and contributing to building the division's change management capability through establishing processes and continuous improvement.
2. Providing direction, coaching, and mentoring to team members, leaders, and staff in change management.
3. Overseeing, planning, and implementing change management activities for digital projects, and monitoring their success.
4. Registering, tracking, and coordinating changes across IT and cybersecurity, maintaining a portfolio view of change, advising on change risks, and supporting integrated planning and delivery.
5. Aligning change activities with the enterprise change management office to prevent change collision and fatigue.
6. Representing IT and security changes at internal forums.
7. Overseeing communication activities across the division to ensure messaging is cohesive and aligned with the change strategy.

Eligibility requirements
Employment is subject to conditions under the Public Service Act 1999, including:
* Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen at application.
* Health Assessment: May require a medical examination.
* Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, with at least five years of residence or a checkable background in Australia.
