Belt Technician
About the Opportunity:
A leading provider of pit-to-ship mining services is seeking Belt Technicians with conveyor systems experience to join their Field Services Maintenance Team.
These roles are full-time positions based on a 2:1 roster and can allow you to grow your skill set with on-site training and the opportunity to develop your career on the tools and as a leader. You can expect to travel to multiple sites to perform scheduled shutdowns, maintenance attend breakdowns and back fill roles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct inspections and maintenance on conveyor belt systems, including belts, rollers, frames, skirts, and pulleys.
* Perform hot and cold splicing of fabric belts using vulcanizing presses and belt-handling equipment.
* Carry out spot vulcanizing repairs and mechanical splicing.
* Support shutdowns, emergent maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
* Assist with planned preventative maintenance and fixed plant maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated safety commitment.
* Current Australian Driver's License.
* Experience with Belt Splicing/Polymer Processing Certificate or equivalent experience.
* Confined Space with Gas Testing (desirable).
* Working at Heights (desirable).
* White Card.
