As a progressive, privately owned South Australian business, we pride ourselves on delivering high quality projects. Due to continued growth across the Education, Commercial and Industrial building sectors, we are looking to expand our team. We operate our own Structural Steel fabrication workshop and are seeking a motivated Apprentice Boilermaker to join the team.
About the Role
This is a hands on apprenticeship opportunity working across a variety of large commercial construction projects. You will gain experience in the fabrication and assembly of structural steel and metalwork items including balustrades, handrails, brackets, beams, frames and cross bracing.
The successful applicant will undertake a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking) as part of this apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training with formal studies.
Working alongside qualified tradespeople, you will develop skills in welding, fabrication, interpreting drawings and safe workshop practices while contributing to high quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
· Attend trade school, completing required coursework to obtain Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking)
· Assist with fabrication and assembly of structural steel components
· Learn and perform welding tasks under supervision (MIG, TIG, Arc and Stud Welding)
· Operate workshop equipment and hand tools safely
· Read and interpret shop and engineering drawings (training provided)
· Measure, cut and prepare steel materials for fabrication
· Tack weld and assemble items ready for final welding
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
· Follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures
· Support workshop and site installation activities as required
About You
· 1st Year or 2nd Year Apprentice – or Mature Age applicant looking to start a trade
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Good attention to detail and problem solving skills
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Commitment to workplace safety
· Driver’s Licence
Desirable (but not essential)
· White Card
