The Clinical Nurse Consultant functions as an integral member of the SPaRTa Townsville team.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the provision of specialist palliative care to patients, families, and clinicians across Townsville, and rural and remote sites within Townsville Hospital and Health Service, Mackay Hospital and Health Service and Mount Isa Hospital and Health Service.
This role is accountable for providing expert clinical consultancy, patient assessments, coordination, and support to optimise patient outcomes and promote evidence-based, person-centred care.
The position will provide specialist advice, education, and clinical support to the SPaRTa team and local health clinicians, working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to build capacity and enhance palliative care delivery in rural and remote communities.

4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading

Is this the opportunity for you?
Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
Extensive experience in a Palliative Care setting.
Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act **** (Qld).
This is a VPD risk role.
