Network Engineer – Fixed Term (7 months). Reporting to Network Manager, NMC Core and Enterprise
Overview
Join nbn to build Australia's future with critical fibre infrastructure. This role provides technical expertise for Enterprise Ethernet, ensuring 99.95% availability for business and government customers.
Responsibilities
* Manage outages and coordinate with external customers (enterprises and RSPs) and internal teams to meet restoration SLAs.
* Operate 8‑hour daytime shift within a 12‑hour window, Monday to Friday.
* Assume Tier 2 or higher technical support responsibilities, including incident management in a 24x7 NOC.
Qualifications
* Strong telecommunications network experience including nbn Aggregation, FTTn, FTTp and HFC.
* Practical experience in Tier 2 level technical support or above.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Remedy, Netcool and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
* High attention to detail, analytical problem‑solving, negotiation and excellent communication skills.
* Self‑motivation, ability to work under pressure and flexibility for shift or non‑shift environments.
