The Position:
This is an incredible opportunity to work as a full time, permanent Anaesthetist at South Australia's largest regional hospital.
As a senior member of the anaesthetic team, you will be responsible for pre and peri-operative anaesthetic care of surgical and obstetric patients and will have input into the management of patients in the High Dependency Unit and in emergency situations when on duty.
The department is an accredited training facility and thus you will be required to supervise Principal House Officers, Junior House Officers and Interns, Registrars and Provisional Fellows.

Located almost equally between Adelaide and Melbourne on the Limestone Coast, South Australia's second largest city has got it all. This city also has a regional airport, with both Melbourne and Adelaide only a 1 hour flight away.

In fact, there are currently 8 childcare centres, 17 primary schools, 6 secondary schools and 2 universities.

The Facility:
The hospital is the largest hospital in rural South Australia. It provides specialist services to a population of around 95,000 people and is the referral hospital for the region. These include obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, day and inpatient surgery, anaesthetics, 24 hour accident and emergency, community health, aboriginal health, aged care services as well as many other specialty areas.
This hospital is both a teaching hospital and a work placed based assessment facility, meaning it attracts great junior support.
Requirements:
Hold the FANZCA or postgraduate qualifications and experience in anaesthetics which meet ANZCA requirements for practising in this position or,
1. New Zealand FANZCA or,
2. IMG with training assessed by ANZCA and a substantially comparable outcome
