What you'll do
As a Procurement Category Manager based in Sydney, you will be entrusted with leading sourcing activities across multiple categories. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing expert guidance on category management strategies while negotiating requirements between stakeholders and suppliers. You will execute procurement strategies by managing cross-functional teams, acting as the lead during market engagements, developing robust contract management plans, and optimising supplier relationships.
* Provide comprehensive advice and guidance on all aspects of category management and sourcing activities including strategy development, negotiation approaches, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
* Negotiate new requirements and resolve conflicts between stakeholders and suppliers by fostering understanding and offering practical solutions.
* Execute procurement strategies by managing cross-functional teams effectively and keeping stakeholders informed with regular updates.
* Act as the procurement lead during market engagement activities, overseeing end-to-end processes from initial sourcing through to contract award.
* Develop and implement strategic contract management plans as well as supplier relationship management initiatives that drive value for the organisation.
What you bring
To excel as a Procurement Category Manager you will bring proven experience in strategic sourcing alongside deep knowledge of category management principles. Your background may include working within indirect categories such as professional services or consumables; alternatively you might have expertise in construction or ICT categories involving software/hardware/telecommunications/cloud services. Experience deploying leading-edge technologies or innovative solutions aligned with business requirements is highly regarded.
